We hear it all the time, “He’s a talented this” or “She’s a talented that.” These can seem like great things to say but it’s some negativity in that.
These simple sayings can make many feel like they’re not talented at anything. This can be a real handicap and can build a belief that if you’re not born with it, you can’t become it.
If you find yourself feeling this way, the cure is hard work. Being willing to work hard on a skill beats talent.
Putting your all in to gain a new skill is your secret weapon. The never ending debate of, nature vs. nurture, is won by how much work you put in.
It’s no limit to what you can accomplish with some hard work and dedication.
Look around you, the evidence is everywhere, hard work is the key to success, not talent.
Your goal this week- Don’t beat yourself up if the first time you do a thing, you don’t get it right away. It’s in the repetitions, doing something over and over, that you get to mastery. Don’t worry yourself about talent, be more focus on the work. It may not be easy, but the hard work will make you better at the end of the day.
That’s it for Monday Motion, remember you don’t need motivation, you just need to keep moving forward. Let’s go out and tackle the week ahead.
