I’ll be the first to say stretching is so boring, but in the same sentence I would add that it’s necessary. Our muscles take a pounding during weightlifting, running or any other physical activity you are currently doing.
This is where stretching can be helpful. Stretching has many benefits which include injury prevention, muscle recovery, flexibility, and is a great stress reliever.
With all these benefits it’s not hard to see why it’s so important to add it to your routine. A easy way is to do it right after your workout. You can start short like maybe 5 minutes. Once you get the hang of it you can start dedicating more time towards it.
You can also add stretching to your recovery days. If you are already do things like the sauna or cold therapy, stretching can be an excellent addition.
So do yourself and your body a favor and add stretching to your weekly plans.
