• When moving through life you need ask yourself a big question.

Is this what I really want?

Your life can go in someone else’s direction or you can take control. You can be the one watching your life go by, or you can be the writer, actor, and director of it.

So much time is spent on making other people happy or trying to fit in and conform. Take a step back and look at your life through a different lens.

We get stuck in jobs we hurt and relationships that make us unhappy. All to prove to the world we got a good life. But secretly behind those social media posts, we’re not living like we want to.

Your Goal This Week- Take a real good look at your life, is it what you want? Is it making you fulfilled? If not, it’s time to take steps to writing the script that fits you. I know it won’t all happen in one week, but just starting will give you a sense of relief. Start that side hustle or project, start a new workout routine, get out of that bad relationship. Any step forward will be a great one.

That’s it for Monday Motion, remember you don’t need motivation, you just need to keep moving forward. Let’s go out and tackle the week ahead.

  • As the weekend approaches, here is a quote that will keep you focus.

“What you habitually think largely determines what you will ultimately become.” – Bruce Lee

What we believe in ourselves truly matters. Your thoughts can be your greatest source of inspiration or it can be your worst source of frustration.

Self belief is the gateway to our future, and that is determined by what we hold in our thoughts.

Don’t get me wrong, not everything we believe is true. You can think y’all a millionaire but no where close. But, you can believe you can become one and work towards that goal.

Bruce Lee is a great example because before he became a big movie star, he wrote it down and believed he would.

Examine your own mind, what are your beliefs about yourself? If they’re negative, then change them. If they’re not bold enough, think about believing higher of yourself.

    Aim for your truest self.

Bring your special gift to the world.

Have a great and blessed weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday.

  • With all the talk of protein and fats, fiber gets overlooked. In America, the average fiber intake is about half of what is recommended.

Fiber is a type of carbohydrate made from plants. The benefits of fiber are many, including blood sugar control, digestion, heart health and can even aid in weight management.

Some good fiber sources are found in whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables. Add these to your diet and make it a point to eat them every day.

If you having trouble getting the necessary amount of fiber from food, you can also use supplements.

It’s also important to not consume too much fiber because it can cause problems such as, constipation, gas, and abdominal pain.

Experiment with different type of foods and the amount you take in, and see what works for you.

  • Where has our attention gone?

Why is our attention span slowly decreasing?

These are the questions we must ask ourselves. Just 50 years ago we could still focus on a task for about 20 minutes. Fast forward to now and we are averaging less than a minute.

We are in an era where multitasking is the it thing. Not realizing the negative effects this may be doing to us.

In the digital age, more and more of short clips on social media are becoming the norm. We can’t even watch a 30 minute show without reaching for the phone.

Even in movie theaters, where they say to put your phone away and enjoy the movie, I see people still scrolling through their phones.

We want everything fast and now, so this makes things like losing weight harder to accomplish. Nowadays, it’s all about the shortcut, everyone’s looking for the quickest possible way.

We must relearn what we lost, and that’s our attention. Putting the phone aside, and doing other activities like sports or reading can be the remedy.

Staying focused on a task without the phone buzzing with notifications can increase your attention and productivity.

The attention span crisis is real but we can always do something about it.

  • With today’s digital world we have some much more pulling for our attention. This can be a good thing or bad, depending on what your attention is focused on.

Not everything is what it seems, and not everyone is honest. Some social media influencers can be leading you in the wrong direction.

You must do your due diligence and don’t always follow blindly.

Where you put your attention is more important than you know. Be curious but cautious, be willing to experiment but also have the knowledge to stop.

Your Goal This Week- Really think about where your attention is going. If you feel like something is wrong, then trust that instinct. Focus on what really matters to you and not on what the outside world is telling you to do. Your path is yours to make, so make sure your attention is on the right outlook.

That’s it for Monday Motion, remember you don’t need motivation, you just need to keep moving forward. Let’s go out and tackle the week ahead.

  • As the weekend approaches, here is a quote that will keep you focus.

“If you are positive, you’ll see opportunities instead of obstacles.” – Confucius

Being positive is an action we all can take and it’s completely in our control. We can’t stop anything that happens outside of us but our thoughts.

When you start to enlighten yourself with more positivity, your world begins to open up.

The opposite is also true with negativity, if your mind is consumed by it nothing will ever feel right.

Your mind is the gateway to the direction you want your life to go. Once you learn to control it, no obstacle is too big.

True opportunity awaits those that are willing to see them. Your thoughts are the key to unlocking your potential, don’t let negativity take hold of you.

Positive thoughts are made to transform you.

Have a great and blessed weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday.

  • Sometimes strength training gets a bad rap, for example, some woman don’t do it because they feel it will make them bulky or strength training can hurt me. These false assumption can be holding some people back.

If done right, strength training is one of the most, if not the most, beneficial activities you can do for yourself.

As we age our muscles and bone density begins to decline. To help your body fight this problem is to strengthen those muscles and bones.

It’s unfortunately going to happen to all of us, it’s no way we can be 20 forever. Our muscle mass is going to decrease, our joints are going to become less flexible, and our heart is not going to have the same power.

Strength training will not eliminate these things, but it will make sure the decline is not too severe.

If you want to keep moving into old age, start strength training today. It doesn’t matter your age, just start slow and gradually increase as you go. Your older self will thank you.

  • Subconscious, even though it seems invisible we all have it. Deep inside us it quietly reinforces what we think of ourselves. This is why it’s necessary to control the narrative of the conversations we have with ourselves.

The first thing that must be done is to eliminate negative self talk. These are the bad things you say about yourself or the situation you find yourself in.

Once negative self talk is out the way, you start to build on the positive side of your life. If you think you don’t have any, then this is the thing you must change.

In order for you to improve your subconscious mind you must feed the right information. This means the people you allow in your life should be right for you, and that goes to the environment as well.

Once you get these things in check, you will slowly, but surely get your subconscious to react in a more positive light. And like most things it will take time, but it’s time worth taking.
