Ever felt like the world should know the things you know? Ever try to teach someone something and they don’t seem to get it? Even if you think it’s so simple to understand.

Psychologists call it the “curse of knowledge” once you fully understand something you seem to forget about the struggles of learning it.

This confirmation bias can be harmful. It can cause you to believe everyone is stupid, which is a very awful way to live.

To escape this curse you must put yourself back into the mindset that you once had. Be patient with those you are teaching by remembering the learning process you had to take.

When you can place yourself in the shoes of the novice, you can become a more patient and understanding person. This is when you also become trusted to help others learn and grow.
